CAPE MAY- An unexpected knock at the door often means an unwanted solicitation of some kind; but this time it meant unexpected savings delivered right to the door step.
On Nov. 7, employees from The Lomax Consulting Group volunteered with Project Porchlight to hand deliver free, ENERGY STAR qualified compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL) in the Cape May area.
Peter Lomax, Alicia Woodrow and Michelle Cotton join other Project Porchlight volunteers to hand out bulbs and educate the public in the merits of converting from traditional incandescent bulbs to the 75 percent more energy efficient CFL bulbs, according to a release based at the Cape May Kiwanis Club, Joan O'Brien, outreach coordinator for Project Porchlight, handed out route assignments and hosted a public education forum.
While delivering to homes in the city, Lomax noted that "The simple action of installing just one energy-efficient. bulb can have an immense impact" Not only does it decrease energy consumption, it also lowers greenhouse gas emissions, reduces a home's carbon footprint and saves money." Lomax added, "That makes sense and cents"
During this holiday season, The Lomax Consulting Group is partnering with Project Porchlight of New Jersey to foster awareness of energy conservation and environmental sustainability.
Both organizations will co-host a CFL bulb distribution on Dec. 4 during the Middle Township Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Christmas in Middle Township event..

She continued, "We arc very excited about the Tree of Life event; our tree's theme is "Light-en Your Carbon Footprint." The tree will feature decorations that are also useful products that focus on renewable energy sustainability, reuse and energy conservation."
